In Greene County district court Shawn Lee King, 32, of Grand Junction was sentenced Dec. 5 to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine- second offense, amended from possession of methamphetamine- first offense. The jail time was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Corrections for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. King was fined $855 with a $153.50 surcharge. The court found him unable to pay court costs or restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fee. A charge of ongoing criminal conduct was dismissed. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria Kester)
Byran J. Bryant, 64, of Denison was sentenced Dec. 7 to 180 days in jail after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. All but two days of the jail term was suspended and he was placed on probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. He must complete a community college drinking drivers school. In lieu of the jail time and drinking drivers school he may complete the Des Moines Area Community College 48-hour alcohol education program. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at his own expense. Bryant was fined $1,250 with a !875.50 surcharge; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
A judgment for a $430 fine with a $64.50 surcharge was entered against Jodi Ann Ganoe, 48, of Jefferson after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Gwendolyn Kissell, 18, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. She must pay a $430 civil penalty. She was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Court costs were $100. A charge against Kissell in magistrate court of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Peter Edward Miover, 52, of Boone was sentenced Dec. 7 to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a charge of fraudulent practice- third degree, amended from fraudulent practice- second degree. The prison term was suspended and he was placed on probation for two years to Boone/Greene County Probation. He was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge. A charge of gambling- avoid set-off was dismissed. Court costs were $359. (Sentencing: McCarville)

Trial dates were set for Jan. 24, 2023 in every case except Lamberti’s. Her trial date was set for Feb. 28.
